Heart Chakra Meditation
“Within you is a key, the master key, to the master suite. All you need to do is to open up from within. Find the opening, the spark that is within you- it is always there” – Ulonda Faye
Heart Chakra Meditation
The heart chakra acts as a portal to your soul, allowing the flow of your amorous energies. Within this sacred space, gratitude, compassion, patience, acceptance, joy, and love reside. It serves as a profound link that connects you to the entirety of existence.
Achieving balance in this chakra involves releasing judgments, fears, disappointments, unnecessary suffering, and victimizing attitudes. As you anchor yourself in a place of unconditional love towards yourself, the resonance of your heart chakra will spread and commence the healing process not just for your own physical body, but also for all beings across the universe, particularly those you are deeply connected to.
The heart chakra, known as the church of Thyatira in the book of revelation, is one of the seven sacred centers. These centers align with the seven degrees of the power of fire. Within the heart, love serves as a sanctuary, pure and universal in nature.
It is essential to be cautious of blending sacred ecstasy with selfish love. Love, akin to the morning star, is untainted and impartial, transcending personal limitations and remaining ineffable. 5-Minute Meditation
Unleashing an open heart has the profound power to transmute fear, separation, and skepticism. Opening yourself up to divine love, connection, knowledge, and trust enables you to uncover the essence and purpose of your soul.
By embracing love, we harmonize with grace, peace, and unity. To initiate this process, let us embark on a serene meditation to delve deeper into the heart space. Practice this meditation in a seated, standing, or lying down position.
Begin by making your eyelids heavy, elongating your spine, releasing tension in your shoulders, relaxing your jaw, and dropping your tongue from the roof of your mouth. Notice your current feelings and send a compassionate breath to any part of your body that requires attention.
Now, focus on the center of your chest, your ethereal heart space. Place your hands gently on your chest, ensuring that your palms are facing downwards. Merge the soothing warmth of your palms with the comforting warmth of your heart.
Quiet your thoughts and allow them to settle. Envision your heart space expanding towards the vast expanse of the sky. Engage with your heart space, recognizing it as a distinct part of yourself, and inquire about its feelings.
Give your heart space the opportunity to express itself and truly listen to its voice. Make an effort to acknowledge and accept any emotions that arise within you as you attentively listen. Is there any resistance present?
After listening to your heart, allow a broad smile to appear on your face, even if there is no apparent reason to smile. Open your mouth slightly and break into a grin if you feel inclined. Smile at yourself as if you are greeting a dear friend you haven’t seen in ages. Observe the warmth that your smile adds to your practice.
Set aside your smile for a moment. Do you notice a decrease in your sense of connection? Try meditating with a smile next time and observe the significant difference it can make. This small action has been transformative for me.
I now smile during every meditation, regardless of its length. Take a moment to appreciate the energy flowing in and out of your heart space. Recite a Sanskrit heart mantra to deepen your practice. The Sanskrit language is uniquely beneficial and empowering for the heart space.
It enables you to expand your loving consciousness and embrace the new sense of openness you have created. Take one final deep breath and release all tension on your exhale. Open your eyes if they were closed. With a gentle gaze, enter a state of mindful awareness, recognizing what you were able to experience during your meditation.
“The fires of the heart control the spinal fires. The fires of the heart control the ascent of the Kundalini. The ascent of the Kundalini happens in accordance with the merits of our heart. In order to get the benefit of only one vertebra in the spinal column, the yogi must submit to numerous trails and terrible purifications. The progress, development, and evolution of the Kundalini is very slow and difficult” – Samael Aun Weor
15-Minute Meditation
The lotus flower is a representation of purity in body, mind, and speech. Originating from the mud, its tall stalks elevate the flower beyond attachment and desire, beyond separation and fear. Much like the lotus flower, your heart has emerged from the mud to bloom.
It can be simple to become lost in the mud, ensnared in pain, suffering, and false narratives, unable to forgive and progress. Understand this is a prison of your own creation. You can choose to remain where you are or bravely let go.
Just make a decision. Extend forgiveness to yourself and to others. The best way to practice this meditation is while seated. Begin by closing your eyes, lengthening your spine, relaxing your shoulders, unclenching your jaw, and letting your tongue rest at the bottom of your mouth.
Take note of your emotions and send a loving breath to any area that requires your attention. Concentrate on the center of your chest, your spiritual heart space. Position your hands with palms facing up on your lap or knees. If it resonates with you, incorporate a heart mudra for your hands as you intentionally open your heart space.
Calm your mind to connect with the vastness of openness. Visualize yourself resting on a massive, radiant lotus throne. Choose a pink, green, or alternative color. Allow the throne’s light to fill your heart with joy; feel its resonance.
Imagine the lotus as a grounding presence encircling you. Picture yourself at the center of the giant, glistening petals and glowing light. Reflect on Buddha’s words, “Compassion that neglects oneself is not whole.”
Reflect on all the challenges you have endured up until this point. If you find yourself in a difficult situation, it’s important to acknowledge the struggles of others involved as well. This practice of compassion extends to everyone, even those who may not appear deserving of it at the moment, but most importantly, it extends to yourself.
Whether you seek forgiveness or wish to offer it, recognizing another person’s suffering and extending forgiveness does not mean you have to compromise your own beliefs. Instead, it calms inner turmoil by providing you with peace.
Extend forgiveness to yourself and all individuals in your story, and if you’re unable to do so at this moment, simply intend to forgive. Forgiveness will come to you when the time is right. Affirm “I possess the courage to forgive,” while seeking guidance from your Higher Self. See if you can accept all that has taken place.
Let go of the need to control or alter a situation. Trust in divine grace and believe that you are being looked after, even if it’s not evident at the moment. Show appreciation to every aspect of yourself, particularly the difficult parts that carry shame, guilt, anger, discord, fear, and suffering.
Each of these emotions serves as a valuable teacher, and the lesson will continue until learned. Follow Buddha’s example to break the cycle and prevent it from recurring. Thank yourself for being here today with love. Use your chosen mantra to signify the end of your practice.
Take a moment to assess your current emotions compared to the start of your meditation. Write down any new revelations if you feel inclined.
“When love appears in the heart, it removes all causes of excitation from the system and cools it down to a perfectly normal state; and, invigorating the vital powers, expels all foreign matters – the germs of disease – by natural ways (perspiration and so forth). It thereby makes man perfectly healthy in body and mind.” – Yukteswar Giri
30-Minute Meditation
The beauty of joy lies in its fleeting nature, which is why it is important to string together these moments of bliss to create a life that brings you immense happiness. However, joy is not the sole requirement for living a life filled with gratitude and love.
Often, life presents us with challenges that awaken us to the significance of these precious gifts, which can only be uncovered when we open ourselves up to truth and vulnerability. Today, you have the opportunity to cultivate gratitude. You may choose to focus on one or all three qualities.
This meditation can be done either seated or lying down, depending on your preference. Start by inhaling deeply, allowing your breath to fill your lungs and flow down your spine towards the center of your ethereal heart space.
As you exhale, release your breath through your arms, palms, and fingertips. After a few deep breaths, you will begin to feel a sense of centeredness. Take a moment to acknowledge and embrace this sensation. Are you sensing any resistance within your being?
Take a moment to identify its presence. Take a deep breath and intentionally breathe into those areas to promote relaxation. Rest your hands on your lap or beside you, with your palms facing upwards.
Imagine a gentle pink or green light and let it flow into your chest, gradually encompassing your lungs, rib cage, heart, and the space between your shoulder blades. With each breath, visualize this light expanding through your heart, forming a soothing circular ring around your chest and extending into your aura.
Whether the light is gleaming, transparent, or murky, simply observe and go with the flow of the energy. Fill each organ with the light one by one. Feel the energy spreading throughout your body. Allow the light to dissolve any closed-off or sorrowful feelings. Release with each breath out.
Focus on taking three additional deep breaths to center your energy on any areas in need of healing. If visualizing light colors is challenging, concentrate more on the sensation rather than specific hues.
If you’re struggling with this, simply breathe deeply into your heart space. Once you feel ready, transition to the main focus of your meditation.
Joy
Contemplate your most treasured sensations and beloved memories. Indulge in these feelings; evoke the images that evoke joy within you. They might be the familiar sounds of loved ones. It could be a gentle touch, a soothing breeze, warm sunshine, ocean waves, or a verdant forest.
What brings you comfort and a sense of well-being? Once you have identified what brings you peace, allow the tranquility and joy to permeate your heart. Acknowledge that everything you desire and require is enroute to you.
Love
Love is often described as a vibrant vibration of beauty, existing beyond the confines of physicality. This energetic frequency possesses the remarkable ability to transmute sorrow, despair, and isolation into moments of profound splendor.
It serves as a unifying energy that connects all beings across the expanse of time and space. Embracing love as a way of life guarantees that you will always prioritize your own well-being and growth.
Today, take a moment to observe yourself exactly as you are – an ever-evolving tapestry of beauty and consciousness in its most authentic form. Regardless of the difficulties you encounter, remember to approach yourself with kindness and immerse yourself in loving vibes.
It might involve leaving a toxic job, bouncing back from a setback, or breaking free from unhealthy habits like overindulging in junk food, spending too much time on social media, or watching reality TV excessively. Take a moment to pinpoint any areas in your life that are causing stress or discomfort.
Once you’ve identified them, infuse them with your loving energy. Allow this loving energy to gently release any burdens, using qualities such as acceptance, patience, kindness, or generosity.
Today, consider how you can show more love and compassion towards yourself. Do you need to carve out more time and space for self-care? Reflect on the most effective way to accomplish this and take the necessary steps.
Gratitude
Think of five elements in your life that you are thankful for right now. Focus on each one separately, whether it’s a person, place, thing, or event. As you exhale, send your gratitude for the positive impact they have had on you.
Let your appreciation extend to everything in existence and beyond. Capture your current emotions in a mental image. Reflect on what you hope to gain from this exercise and if there is anything you need to release.
Breathe in deeply for the last time, then let it all out. Repeat a heart mantra three times. Your session is now over. Reflect on any emotions that arose or make note of feelings that may need further exploration.
“Riding on the golden flames of our power center, we now arrive at the very heart of the chakra system. Here, in a band of green, lies the center of the Rainbow Bridge, the midpoint of our journey. Like the green, growing plants, which push toward the heavens from their roots in the earth, we, too, reach outward in two directions – anchoring the manifesting current deep in our bodies and expanding the liberating current as we reach beyond ourselves. In the heart chakra, these currents come to perfect balance in the center of our being. From the sacred center – the heart of the system – we enter the mystery love” – Anodea Judith
